The Vivek Mission Charitable Trust has carried out a number of tasks since it first began serving the community in 1986. Following is a glimpse of our work.

The Vivek Mission Charitable Trust Jalal (Bathinda) was registered on March 3, 1986, under the Registration Number- JULD.TRUST/5V. Under Registration of societies no. 082 Act. XXI/of 1860.

The trust built an eye hospital in Jalal where 131 free-Eye Camps have been launched from 1987 to 2006. An approximate 1,00,000 eye patients have been checked free of cost and have been provided free medication, spectacles, langar and lodging. In addition, 24,000 patients have undergone eye surgery whilst their guardians were provided free langar and lodging during their stay.

This mission also organised free medical and check-ups in the area of Ram Pura Phul and medicines were provided free of cost.

Every Tuesday the hospital runs a free service where check-ups are carried out on those with fractured bones. Treatment is also provided free of cost.

Guruji’s atut langar is available round the clock.

In addition to medical facilities, other social activities such as marriages of needy widows or orphans are also arranged by the trust.

A mile-stone of the trust is the construction of the Mata Amar Kaur Vivek Charitable Eye Hospital in Jaitu, which is a high tech modern hospital, built with all the latest technology and advanced systems for eye care. Competent eye surgeons have devoted their time and effort by offering free operations at the hospital for those in need. Approximately 360 eye patients have been provided with free medicines, spectacles, langar and lodging at the hospital in Jaitu.

Another mile-stone associated with the branch in Jaitu is the running of a general hospital alongside the eye branch. Fully competent physicians and surgeons also kindly offer their time and support to provide treatment to patients free of cost. In addition to this, free medical camps in nearby villages are also organised by the hospital where medical care is offered, again for free.

The trust also organises public awakening camps against social evils such as female foeticide, dowry issues and attacks on women to name a few. Taboo medical conditions such as aids and drug addiction are also highlighted at these camps. Seminars are also arranged amongst the youth to educate and help them.

The trust lent a helping hand to the Government Girls High School Bhagta Bhai Ka by aiding in the construction of two new classrooms. Materials worth Rs. 1,25,000 were provided, including cement, iron bars and tools to assist in the building.

The Open Punjab State Women Games took place from November 8th 1994 to November 11th 1994. The women players, their parents, spectators and the common people were provided langar and lodging free of cost by us. The D.C. of Bathinda at the time, awarded swami Ji (President of the Trust) with a certificate of Merit.

A blood donating camp was launched by the trust in collaboration with the District Red Cross Society, Bathinda at Ram Pura Phul in 1983. All missionaries of the trust along with 500 blood donors donated 1500 units of blood to the District Red Cross Society, Bathinda.

Almost 10,000 people were in attendance and they were all provided with refreshments and lunch at the trust’s cost. The Deputy Commissioner of Bathinda at the time, honoured Swami Braham Muni with a certificate of merit for his efforts.

The trust also contributed in the construction of the Civil Hospital Ram Pura Phul.

Continuing its social service activities, the missionaries of the trust assisted a special school for the deaf, dumb and blind in Bathinda. A 15 feet deep pit was covered at the expense of the trust and in addition, large financial help was also given. The chairman of the District Red Cross Society Bathinda awarded Swami Braham Muni Ji a certificate of merit for this meritorious contribution and Swami Ji was appointed Managing Director of the society.

The trust also contributed in the construction of the new University neighbourhood campus Ram Pura Phul.

The trust actively engages in social welfare acts and aids in guiding youths to follow sports and other forms of physical activities as a deterrent from drugs and other ills. The mission also gives financial aid to sporting tournaments in a bid to encourage others to take part in sport.

The Trust conducts various awareness camps in villages across Punjab, educating villagers on the topic of healthcare.

The trust conducts free camps for dental care.
